Promotion of a film is when it encourages the public to go see their film. This could be done by the actors or actresses who star in it. For example, Daniel Radcliffe promoted The Woman In Black by doing an online interview which was posted on YouTube. Publicity is when attention is drawn to the product. Advertising is done carefully through materials such as merchandise, trailers, posters etc.
